Use of grant funds
Grant funds should be used for direct
expenses of the program. Funds may not be used to construct
or renovate facilities or as a substitute for funds currently
being used to support similar activities, to reduce ongoing
deficits from pre-existing operations or to substitute
for third-party reimbursement. Support for expensive equipment
is rarely provided.
Grants generally do not exceed $50,000.
Program management
Judith L. Bardes serves as manager
of the program. Technical assistance is provided by a
committee of the Board. Applications are screened by Judith
Bardes and the Board's Review Committee and any other
advisors who may be appointed. All grants are approved
by the full Board of Directors. The Foundation usually
does not provide individual critiques of proposals submitted.
Evaluation and monitoring
As a condition of accepting Foundation
funds, grantees are expected to report outcomes of the
grant each year and to participate in any professional
evaluation conducted on behalf of the Foundation.
Acknowledgment
Appropriate recognition of any
grant should be given to the Edna G. Kynett Memorial Foundation.
